Yes, EasyBalance Plus is safe for invertebrates when used as directed. When keeping invertebrates we recommend weekly (or more frequent) water testing to check pH, alkalinity, nitrite and nitrate and ensure all parameters are at the recommended levels. Proper aeration and regular water changes are also more important when keeping invertebrates.
Yes, you add it with the fish in the tank. As per the instructions, it is one teaspoon per 5 gallons of water. Make sure you have plenty of filtration and aeration in the tank.
My water turned somewhat slightly dull cloudy after application of Easy Balance; is this normal? Also can I use a water clarifier alongside Easy Balance?

This can happen if there is a lot of waste in the tank or some other issue. No, do not use the Water Clarifier at the same time. It would be better to either use fresh filter media, polyfilter, or do a small partial water change if it does not clear in a few hours.

no first put in the tetra aqua safe first....then you can put in the easy ballense
Easy balance is a great product to use weekly to help keep high quality water conditions in between water changes; however is not the ONLY product used to maintain a tank, especially not a new tank. Firstly, if you are using tap water that contains chlorine and/or chloramine, you’ll need to use a de-chlorinator such as AquaSafe to insure that the water is safe before adding fish to the water, or before adding new water to a tank already containing fish. Secondly, many new fish owners lose fish due to high ammonia levels in the water that would normally be controlled by friendly bacteria found in an established tank. Because of this I always recommend using a bacterial treatment such as Safe Start that adds live bacteria to your water to help make sure that fish make it through the break in period. This type of treatment would need to be used AFTER the fish have been introduced to the tank, as the ammonia produced by the fish is the food source that allows the bacteria to live.
I've just started to use Easy Balance weekly and AquaSafe monthly in my small aquarium. I'm having a hard time trying to calculate the number of drops to use in my tank. Is it possible to put too much of either product to the point in would harm the fish?

Hello, The AquaSafe would be 7 drops per gallon. The EasyBalance would be about four drops per gallon. While you do want to keep these dosages in mind, neither product is particularly dangerous if overdosed. The AquaSafe can produce a lot of foam on the surface of the aquarium if too much is added. The EasyBalance might contribute to cloudy water if too much is used.
Whenever adding any chemical to an aquarium you want to have aeration in the tank, to prevent oxygen levels from dropping to dangerous levels.

Hello,
Thank you for your interest in our product. EasyBalance and aquarium salt do not have the same benefits, so yes, we would recommend continuing with the salt, depending on your reason for using it. Regards, BREX
No matter how much I shake it, when I put in Easy Balance, I get this "snow storm" of white particles. Is there anything about this that suggests the product is not working or is past its prime? Thank you!

No, it is never safe to add more than one chemical at a time. Never add a water clarifier with a medication or algaecide, for example. Chemical reactions may be negative.
Can you use Easy Balance or Easy Balance Plus in a Salt Water Tank
For many years I used Easy Balance in a tropical tank. I now have a 12 gallon salt water tank, can I use either Easy Balance or Easy Balance Plus in a salt water system? The tank has fish, shrimp, hermit crabs, snails, live rock and soft coral. 12 gallons. Thanks.

No, EasyBalance is not formulated for saltwater aquariums. We recommend visiting our sister company, www.instantocean.com, for more information about water care for marine tanks.
I am just starting to use EasyBalnace on a 200 litres aquarium. The water is well oxygenated, pH of 7.6 with a population of Dwarf Guramis, guppies and few other species. On week 1 I added 50ml of EasyBalance (2.5ml everu 10L of water). 48h later two Guramis died. On week 2 I applied the same quantity of EasyBalance and two small African Cichlid died. I noticed that few hours after appliying EasyBalance Ph swings to 8. Am I doing something wrong?

Easy Balance is designed to keep the maintenance down on the tank. You may want to test the ammonia & nitrate level in the tank. Make sure you are not overfeeding. Be sure to perform a 25% water change every two -four weeks. Thanks.

Theoretically, if the filter is properly sized you would not need an additional air pump. Water movement, circulating the water from the top to the bottom you would mix water with more oxygen in it to the bottom. You might try it first without the air pump. If you notice the fish are always at the top, if the tank is tall, if need an air pump to run an ornament, if you like the way the bubbles look, then you would need an air pump. You would need to purchase an air pump, airline tubing, check valve, and an air stone to disperse the air as smaller bubbles.Thanks.

You need to use water conditioner any time you add water to the tank. The biological supplement should be any time you are doing very large water changes or adding fish to the tank.

No. Turtles can absorb chemicals through their skin. The only safe product is something like Aquasafe. A turtle tank should not need Easy Balance. They are a lot of work, but they require a weekly 50% water change to keep them and their tank in good shape. For more info on turtles, visit www.turtlerescues.com.

We have two formulas on the market now, one with, and one without, Nitraban. Sounds like your store is just carrying the one without. The old version is still very much available. It is now called Easy Balance Plus. If your store won't order it, it is available through www.petmountain.com and www.drsfostersmith.com.
